Property developers and builders are increasingly using interior designers to ensure the highest possible specification for their projects.

One recent example is One Hyde Park in Knightsbridge, the most prestigious block ever built in London, by Candy and Candy. We supplied carpets to every apartment in the building, and working closely with the developers we created a beautiful plain semi-worsted wool quality that gives a soft sheen and feels delicate underfoot; it still had the resilience of wool, compared to less hard wearing viscose-type products. All the apartments are odd shaped, but we were able to make each carpet to room shapes and in one piece, therefore avoiding any joins and meaning there was no carpet waste.

This meant less material to order and a reduced weight on the budget.
