These can all be made in virtually any size or colours. Simply email us the size you require, and we will give a quotation. On receipt of 50% deposit, we submit final artwork for approval showing your selected design in its new size. If you send us samples of the upholstery and curtain fabrics being used in the same room as the carpet/rug, we can colour the design to match these.
Before we can produce artwork, the design style required needs to be established; modern, contemporary, traditional etc. Typically a client would select designs that they like from our portfolio, or website. Borders from one design can be used with the field of another design; motifs can be added or subtracted, thus creating a new design. A client may like the concept of a certain design but require it to be simplified or even developed further. Almost anything is possible.
Alternatively, a client may have an image from a magazine, design reference book etc. that they wish to use as the design basis, or even a sketch they have done themselves, these can be posted or scanned and emailed to us.
The quality also needs to be established: are the rugs to be supplied in an all cut pile quality, or is some loop pile desired? Different pile heights can be used in the same quality; carving can be used for heightened definition. Some people like a 'plush' high pile quality, while others prefer a lower 'fine velvet' type.
At this point we are ready to produce a quotation, which includes the cost to manufacture the rug/carpet, and a design fee. When we have received payment of the design fee we can commence with the artwork. This design fee is refundable once the order for the carpet / rug is placed.
Once the artwork has been completed, it is presented to the client along with the colour tufts for approval. Any changes that may be required by the client are then made, and the artwork is submitted for final approval.
In most case sampling is not required, especially for modern pieces. However if necessary a 2' x 2' sample can be produced. Our factory needs four to five weeks to make a sample. We normally only sample complex designs using twenty or more colours. Should a sample be required we charge a nominal amount for this service.
Once the artwork and colour tufts / sample are approved, and 50% deposit is paid production of the rug(s) can commence.
While the yarn is dyed, the design is drawn full size on the carpet backing, which is mounted on a large frame. The rug is then hand-tufted. Once tufting is completed the rug is cropped and a secondary latex backing is applied. The rug is then inspected and wrapped ready for shipment. The production process for each rug is normally 10 -12 weeks. Hand-knotted orders take 5 / 6 months.
When the order is nearly completed, Loomah invoice the customer for the final 50% of the order value. Once this payment is received the order is shipped and delivered.
