Luxury Custom Carpets for Private Clients and Residences.
A few, eccentric stories.
To us, the best attention to every tiny detail and to the quality of the materials, combined with a strict adherence to deadlines, are paramount.
We feel we are equally 'at home' supplying a rug for a client's living room, as we did for Michael Flatley's Castle Hyde in Cork, Ireland.
Andrew Cotgrove loves to tell a few stories about his business: 'We supplied bespoke fitted carpets in one of our worsted wool qualities for a private house in Hampstead. The client told me she and her family are now always barefoot, adding "it is so luxurious, it is like walking on cashmere."'
'A client loved our carpets so much, she had them everywhere in the house. Yet, there was one more design from our archive she really wanted to include in the take in, but had no rooms left. She therefore created a small living space in the swimming pool room for this rug to feature in. To keep it dry and safe, she bribed her children with a 59" plasma television to jump into the pool from the other side.'
He loves his job and the thrill of the challenge: 'One client had a townhouse in Belgravia with two very large spiral staircases. He was adamant that he wanted each staircase carpet runner made in one piece with no joins, in a trellis design and borders. He met a blank wall and told this was impossible by everyone he approached, until he was recommended to Loomah. We realised that this would be very difficult, would entail a lot of work, but was not impossible. We thrive on a "can do" attitude, and love finding solutions to problems that people say cannot be solved. We are selling a luxury bespoke product, and as such it should be tailored to meet the clients requirements, not what is easier for us. We worked out what would need to be done, informed the client, and got the order. Firstly, we cut full paper templates of the staircase on site. We took these templates back to the warehouse floor, and used them to make a second set on firmer paper, which were then taken back to site and laid out on the stairs; then, we hand drew the borders on to the templates. These templates were then taken to our factory to make the actual carpets. When we came to install, we literally rolled out the carpets down the staircases and they fell into place and were fitted perfectly.'
