Introducing Loretta from Loomah’s latest Marmont Collection. Named after the Hollywood institution, Chateau Marmont, which opened its doors on Sunset Boulevard in 1929, this collection of rugs draws inspiration from the glamorous style of the Art Deco era. Each design is characterised by iconic Art Deco style. Striking symmetry, angular lines and geometric motifs typical of the era are combined with luxurious materials and metallic accents.
Loretta focuses on bold geometry
“Art Deco design has endured for over 100 years and still prevails in contemporary and traditional spaces alike today,” says Andrew Cotgrove, Founder and Managing Director of Loomah Bespoke Carpets & Rugs.
Loretta focuses on bold geometry, featuring layers of large-scale geometric shapes, curves and stepped forms in contrasting blocks of colour that define the Art Deco aesthetic.
The colours of the art deco period are typically audacious. Moody and deeper shades are balanced by softer neutrals to create high contrast colour combinations, often punctuated by metallic accents.
Loretta employs a palette of soft neutrals layered with contrasting deep blue tones, creating dramatic visual contrast. The addition of shimmering bronze tones adds a richness to the design, infusing a sense of glamour.
Acclaimed for its sheen and softness, Loretta is hand tufted from Tencel. The best performing cellulose fibre used in the manufacture of carpets and rugs, Tencel is fast becoming a popular choice for custom made carpets and rugs in part because of its environmentally friendly properties.
The smooth cut pile finish enhances the innate lustre of the Tencel, lending a glamourous edge to the finished rug.
