Loomah are excited to announce the launch of our South Beach Collection. This eclectic collection of designs takes inspiration from the diverse city of Miami, its culture, architecture and tropical surroundings; turquoise sea, deep blue sky, pink sand and stripy cabanas.

Combining influences from past and present; from the Art Deco pastel coloured hotels of historic South Beach to the burgeoning contemporary art scene, our South Beach Collection is an explosion of colour and pattern. “Miami is so much more than just sea and sand”, says Becs Cook, Head of Marketing at Loomah, “it’s cultural evolution and contemporary art scene make it a rich area in which to find inspiration.”

Home to some of the best street artists in the world, the everchanging murals at Wynwood Walls have gained Miami the reputation as the arts capital of the United States as well as its most instagrammable city. Dozens of neighbourhoods provide a canvas for artists with murals often featuring striking layers of colour and pattern which are given extra intensity by the bright Miami sunshine.

Loomah are undeniably huge fans of geometrics and their role in interiors. Our South Beach Collection utilises the playful colour palettes and bold geometrics favoured by the street artists, resulting in impactful and uplifting designs that confidently embrace colour.

Miami’s Art Deco influence is also strongly evident throughout our collection with Raleigh, Dixon and Carlyle characterised by classic Miami Beach deco motifs. Striking symmetry, horizontal lines and curvaceous corners all feature in the iconic pastel colour palette created by Leonard Horowitz in the 1980s to transform the buildings of South Beach and highlight the Art Deco design with colour. Hand carving enhances the clean lines and strong use of colour as well as adding a three-dimensional quality echoing the stepped designs and sculptural relief prevalent in the architecture.

The uplifting colour choices continue with the deep blue and bright coral of Tides and Shores. Here we have employed carving techniques to create a sculpted finish to emulate the undulating curves of patterns in the sand.
