The move towards softer, shaped edges is becoming ever prevalent in interiors with the trend for curved, scalloped furniture and accessories emerging across our living spaces.

Whether it is the Art Deco feel of Soho Home’s Manette Bed of the more rustic charm the Scallop Lampshade by Matilda Goad, this trend can add interest to any space and is a simple but effective way to elevate the overall interior aesthetic.

Whilst Loomah try not to be trend led, we always have our fingers on the pulse of current and emerging trends in the industry.  Loomah have always championed original design and creating bespoke pieces that will stand the test of time. “When a customer approaches us to commission a bespoke carpet or rug they are making an investment,” says Andrew, Managing Director at Loomah.  “Our focus is on creating bespoke rug designs tailored to our client’s individual specifications.”

The beauty of our hand tufted rugs is they can be custom made to order in any size and any shape and due to the unique handmade construction, hand tufting lends itself well to odd shapes and curved edges.  “Essentially anything that can be drawn by hand can be tufted by hand”, adds Andrew.

Designed in collaboration with Blush International, this hand tufted rug features a simple border design with a scalloped edge, custom made to perfectly frame the furniture.

The undulating curves of the design create a romantic silhouette whilst hand carving accentuates the scalloped edges, adding impact to elevate this otherwise simple design.  Made using our finest worsted wool in a deep pile, the smooth velvet finish not only looks sumptuous and inviting but feels wonderfully soft underfoot.

The simplicity of this design is enhanced by the use of a single, neutral colour which works seamlessly with the space.
