Introducing Hayworth from Loomah’s latest Marmont Collection. Named after the Hollywood institution, Chateau Marmont, which opened its doors on Sunset Boulevard in 1929. This collection of rugs draws inspiration from the glamorous style of the Art Deco era. Each design is characterised by iconic Art Deco style. Striking symmetry, angular lines and geometric motifs typical of the era are combined with luxurious materials and metallic accents.

“Art Deco design has endured for over 100 years and still prevails in contemporary and traditional spaces alike today,” says Andrew Cotgrove, Founder and Managing Director of Loomah Bespoke Carpets & Rugs.
Hayworth focuses on simple geometry, featuring large scale sweeping curves combined with contrasting blocks of colour that defined the Streamlined Moderne aesthetic. This pared back interpretation of Art Deco design, emerged following to crash of the stock market in 1929 and signified a move away from earlier, more elaborate decorative styles.
Designed by our in-house team before being hand tufted to our exacting standards by highly skilled artisans at our factory in the Far East, Hayworth uses only the finest materials.

Art Deco design is typified by high contrast colour combinations with bold, moody and deeper shaded, balanced by softer nudes and neutrals and often punctuated by metallic accents. Hayworth employs gold bamboo lines overlaid on a pure New Zealand wool background in a neutral palette of cool greys creating a striking contrast. The high shine of the smooth cut pile bamboo motif, punctuates the wool, adding a beautiful lustre, richness and depth to the design. Bamboo works beautifully as an accent. “Using bamboo as a design detail against a contrasting wool background can elevate even the simplest of designs,” says Abigail Avery, Designer at Loomah Bespoke Carpets & Rugs. “The use of wool provides increased durability whilst the lustre of the bamboo yarn creates adds a sense of luxury to the overall finish of the carpet.”
