Our premium polypropylene offers resilience without compromising on luxury
In today’s post we are discussing polypropylene. Whilst polypropylene is one of the most widely used synthetic yarns in the manufacture carpets and rugs it is one of the newest additions to Loomah’s range. “Whilst we specialise in bespoke hand tufted carpets and rugs, Loomah strive to continue to push the boundaries of carpet design, experimenting with new products and techniques to add diversity to our portfolio,” says Andrew Cotgrove, Founder and Managing Director at Loomah. “Polypropylene came to the fore as we developed a collection of luxury outdoor rugs.”
Loomah use only the finest and most luxurious yarns in the manufacture of our bespoke carpets and rugs. “Our premium polypropylene offers resilience without compromising on luxury,” says Andrew, “it is ideal for outdoor use as it is impervious to weather conditions but remains soft to touch.”
Unlike most natural fibres, polypropylene will absorb water and is resistant to mould and mildew making it suitable for use where exposure to water is inevitable, be that port side or poolside.
Our premium polypropylene is also resistant to fading from sun exposure and cleaning. Unlike natural fibres our premium polypropylene is solution dyed. During this unique process the colour pigment is added during the production process as opposed to after. This means the colour penetrates all the way through the fibre offering superior colour fastness.
The unparalleled benefits of our premium polypropylene make it an ideal choice for areas where practicality is paramount inside as well as out. It’s durability and renowned stain resistance make it perfect for areas where spillages are inevitable but you don’t want to compromise on that soft feeling underfoot.
